Aerobics Instructors

Protect Your Most Important Asset with General Liability Insurance

When you're an independent aerobics instructor, you are your business's most important asset. Simply put, you need general liability insurance because it protects you from financial loss. Without insurance, if a student is injured and sues you for negligence, you would have to pay for losses out of your own pocket.

When you teach at a facility that someone else owns, their insurance does not cover you and will not protect you! Most gyms and schools require you to have your own general liability insurance.

When you think about it, general liability insurance is quite a bargain. Let's say your premium is $171 for the year. In April, a student is injured during class, and sues you for $750,000. The case goes to court, and the jury awards the student $450,000. If you didn't have general liability insurance, you'd have to pay the $450,000.

Note 1: All aerobics instructors must be currently certified by a national organization approved by Markel Insurance Company. Click here for a list of Markel-approved organizations.

Note 2: This general liability policy is offered through C.M. Meiers Company, Inc., a Markel partner agency.

Choose the Coverage You Need

You can choose the general liability limit you need:

  • $136 premium, fully earned: $500,000 per occurrence/$1.5 million aggregate
  • $171 premium, fully earned: $1 million per occurrence/$3 million aggregate

*Fully earned means that if you cancel your policy, your premium will not be refunded. Per occurrence is the maximum amount Markel will pay for each covered claim.  Aggregate is the maximum amount Markel will pay for all covered claims combined. (Where permitted by law.)
